Museo Ex Teresa Arte Actual opened in 1993 inside of what was previously the Convent of Saint Teresa. In 1998, the museum changed its name to what is now Ex Teresa Arte Actual, and is part of Museos del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. Ex Teresa rose as a cultural center in Mexico City by incorporating significant architectural elements that transform the space into dialogue between the languages of the old and new. The space supports exhibitions and the development of contemporary art, including installation art, performances, and multimedia art at the national and international level. Ex Teresa offers visitor guides, studios, video-loop installations, academic talks and presentations, as well asconcerts, and it has also been the headquarters of the Muestra Internacional de Performance (The International Exhibition of Performance) since 1994.
