Casper, Revista de título mutable

(Mexico City, 1998–1999) was a zine that began and ended on International Workers’ Day, with its first release on May 1, 1998 and its last on May 1, 1999. Casper: Revista de título mutable (Casper: Magazine with a changeable name) resurrected images and texts by artists and thinkers from both local and international scenes, and paired them with drawings, stickers, lithographs, and posters. By doing so, it explored the appropriation inherent to zine culture and its tensions. Casper would illegally reproduce material to question who has the right to what. Through its thirteen issues, it both reframed what already existed and reinvented itself, with each new issue having a different theme and name. The zine’s editors included Luis Felipe Ortega and former Temístocles 44 participants Daniel Guzmán, Gabriel Kuri, and Damián Ortega.               

(Ciudad de México, 1998–1999) fue un fanzine que inició y terminó en el Día del trabajo, su primera entrega fue el 1ero de mayo de 1998, y la última fue el 1ero de mayo de 1999. Casper: Revista de título mutable dio nueva vida a imágenes y textos de artistas y pensadores de escenas locales e internacionales, y los combinó con dibujos, calcomanías, litografías y pósters. Al hacerlo, exploró la apropiación inherente a la cultura del fanzine y sus tensiones. Casper reprodujo material de manera ilegal para cuestionar quién tiene derecho a qué. A lo largo de sus trece números, Casper reformuló lo que ya existía y se reinventó a sí mismo, cada uno de sus trece números tuvo un tema y título diferentes. Entre sus editores se incluyen Luis Felipe Ortega, así como a Daniel Guzmán, Gabriel Kuri y Damián Ortega, antiguos colaboradores de Temístocles 44.
